Yesterday evening, the Mandala welcomed the trio of saxophonist Cyril Amourette increased Abdu Salim. Cyril Amourette will attend this summer to Pinsac, for the closing of the festival, the Jazz Unit Ton Ton Hi. We jumped at the chance to hear him. And to our delight, Remi Leclerc, with whom the festival has a long history of friendship and music (Magadi in 2001 among others), is on keyboards in this trio. But it was also a great moment of music, sent in two sets winners who brought us until about half past midnight for one of the finest things that ever happened to me to listen to the Mandala. The concert began with "One by One", Wayne Shorter signed, superbly played. And then the concert was held, between times and compositions of Cyril Amourette, with an energy of thunder. It often surprises the trio Toulouse deeply moved to share the stage with Abdu Salim. And assume that this emotion is a carrier. Very groovy supported, served by pulsating drums Pierre-Alain Tocanier and keyboard Remi Leclerc, whose left hand was often used as walkin'bass, "answered the chorus right hand (even two), Remi, those Cyril Amourette, Abdu Salim and those of Pierre-Alain Tocannier, as bright as each other. And when this impulse often haunting solos drag on, we are caught in a kind of trance that could do very effectively think of "Soul Power" of Idris Muhammad. Finally, saying that the game was the saxophonist Coltrane alternately thinking and Groover Washington Jr., the atmosphere is definitely given.
