Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

In 1999, the UN General Assamblée proclaimed 25 November the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, in memory of the three Mirabal sisters, political activists in the Dominican brutally murdered orders of the Head of State, General Trujillo.

But it seems that this date has not captured the attention of many people because, for example, the United States, a woman is beaten by her partner every 15 seconds in South Africa a woman is raped every 23 seconds. For us, this violence against women is often underestimated, even if it represents the greatest violation of human rights in developed countries.

I hope this video will help you think about the problem and to mobilize against violence, but especially today, against violence against women.
