With
Ernest and Rebecca William Bianco shows a new facet of his incredible talent. Still if this particular vision of childhood, between dream and harsh reality, between light and reflection denser. Rebecca is an only child by force of circumstance (often absent parents and older sister who has other concerns). She is fragile and playful, can become unbearable or turn into electric battery in a split second. A girl touching, very affected by parental separation and the arrival of Sam, the new boyfriend of his mother. In the third volume comes out, the series win in thickness. On holiday in the countryside, Rebecca discovers life in another day and learn a whole bunch of stuff about the nature and the stars with his Grandpa critters. A tome that combines the poetry of
Jojo (Geerts) and rural scenery worthy of
Memories Mamette (Nob).
In an interview published last month in the magazine DBD William Bianco defines perfectly the spirit of the series: "is a funny series where kids can identify with, while sometimes finding solutions to their problems. I regret that all these series are just entertainment. Just as I regret the comics inaccessible from cover. Modestly I try to mix the two, ie a scenario with a little depth, illustrated by a drawing available to Disney or very manga. "
says it all. Ernest and Rebecca is a wonderful series, while tenderness. A treat for all ages from 8 years.
